Our First House - curb appeal

This is a peak at our home.

For any of you who follow our blog you may have read that
we have been very busy getting our home ready to sell.

Well we are finally listed!  Yeah!

While this home was only ever meant to be our "starter home."
It is a little bitter sweet.  We have all the little projects done and
are finally able to enjoy it!  We spent the last 3 years
(okay, so maybe most of it was crammed into the last three months)
updating our little cottage that could.
We painted, painted, painted, refinished all flooring,
added a little curb appeal, planted lots of flowering shrubs
 (I am obsessed with Hydrangeas),
and.....did I mention PAINTED
and finally did a little decorating to finish it off.

I thought I would share with you our exterior before and afters.
We didn't do much to the exterior....just added a little welcoming touch.

So, whatta ya think?

We had our first open house last Sunday.
Wish us luck!
We buried our St. Joseph statute and said our prayers!

We our moving back to our home town of LeClaire, Iowa.
We currently are in the area and only about 15 minutes away.

our next project
So long as St. Joseph brings luck our way this little beauty will be our next project.
Get ready folks!  This ones in need of some MAJOR TLC!
We are talking full scale remodel....GUT JOB.....maybe an addition on the back
the WHOLE enchilada!

We hope you'll join us on this crazy journey!

  1. What a cute place! I hope it sells quickly for you. I know I'd be calling my realtor if I saw this listing! :) Found you through Met Monday. Wishing you much success on your new project!

  2. You've done a great job. I hope it sells quickly so you can be on to your next project.

  3. It has GREAT curb appeal...the landscaping is wonderful!

  4. Your house looks great. What a difference the shutters made. I hope you sell quickly.

  5. Oh I LOVE the cottage, I'm going to have to come back when I have more time and look at your past posts so that I can see the inside! The shutters added so much to the outside, made the upstairs window look so much bigger too. Good luck with selling your house! I'm your newest follower. I hope you'll stop by and visit my blog sometime too.

  6. The house is darling!! I dare say you need to re-paint the screen door or remove it all together and paint the door door a wild and loud color. People will remember your house...and it will spice exterior!!

  7. Good luck to you! The home seems to be pretty nice so I'm sure that someone would get interested in it. It helps to double-check, though, and make sure that everything is in order. That way, people can get a good first impression of it.

The after pics look nice. The shot of the branches and leaves hanging there creates a very nice effect. It looks very welcoming!

I love your comments! I appreciate each and every cottage visitor and hope you willll come back again soon! Carrie
